Manuscripts that may have their APCs covered need to have a strong chance of progressing to publication, and make a meaningful impact on the literature. This means the Editor usually prioritizes high quality research articles that have demonstrated relevance and impact on clinical practice/patient care, and/or relevance and impact on future research, including:
- Guidelines and systematic reviews
- Intervention clinical trials with patient-important outcomes
- Observational studies
The Editor is unlikely to provide coverage for Commentaries, Letters to the Editor, studies dealing with educational issues, case series with relevance to restricted regional areas.
If coverage is granted, the editor will provide the authors with a Society account code to be provided during manuscript submission. Authors having questions related to this procedure are invited to contact the Editor before submitting their manuscripts.
